FSi Ukrainian-Norwegian Defence Industry Seminar: Lessons from Ukraine for the Future of European Security

Teleplan Globe recently participated in the FSi Ukrainian-Norwegian Defence Industry Seminar, where defence stakeholders, industry leaders and partners came together to discuss the knowledge, experience and lessons gained in Ukraine, and their relevance for the future of European security.

During the seminar, Magne Killingstad, shared insights from Teleplan Globe's engagement in Ukraine and our collaboration with defence industry partners operating in one of today's most demanding and rapidly evolving operational environments.

Our experience has reinforced the importance of understanding operational realities and translating lessons learned into new capabilities. The expertise developed through these partnerships provides valuable perspectives for Norway and NATO in areas such as operational effectiveness, innovation and rapid adaptation to evolving threats.

Turning Operational Experience into Capability

One of the clearest lessons from Ukraine is the importance of close cooperation between the armed forces and industry.

The pace of technological and tactical development has demonstrated that operational feedback must be translated rapidly into solutions that deliver real-world effect. New threats, new technologies and changing operational requirements demand a continuous cycle of learning, adaptation and innovation.

Ukraine's experience has shown how strong collaboration between operators and industry can accelerate capability development and help ensure that solutions meet the needs of those who rely on them in the field.

Bringing the Lessons Home

Our message at the seminar was clear: the knowledge, experience and insights gained in Ukraine must be shared, applied and incorporated into future capability development across Norway and NATO.

By learning from operational experience and applying those lessons to technology development, doctrine and interoperability, we can strengthen preparedness, resilience and cooperation across Europe. At the same time, we must continue supporting Ukraine and working closely with partners who provide valuable insights into the realities of modern conflict.

The security environment continues to evolve. Our ability to learn, adapt and innovate together will be critical to strengthening European defence and ensuring that allied forces are prepared for the challenges ahead.
